Friends of Education
I learned to make a vegetable garden in my School Champion Club (GRTI Project). I have prepared seeds for my garden so that I earn money for my needs from selling the vegetables.
Through the GRTI project, students learn how to sew reusable sanitary pads, not only for personal use but also for sale to others, and the profit is used to support female students in the eight project schools. We thank HakiElimu for giving us the sewing machines. These skills are a good opportunity for entrepreneurship when they finish primary school and can earn their income. The reusable sanitary pads project has become very successful in Arusha Council.
One of the pupils in my class was withdrawn and would not cooperate with others. After observing her for about a month, I realised she had a hearing problem and immediately informed her parents, requesting they take her for treatment. One of the parents insisted that she was fine and was stubborn. After insisting on treatment, the parents agreed and took her to the hospital. The pupil was treated and is now happy and active in class. Through the #MwanzoMzuri project, I learned how to identify and assist pupils with special needs.
