Wilbert Kapinga is the managing partner of the Bowmans Law Firm Tanzania office. Wilbert was previously for upwards of twenty years a senior partner in the law firm of Mkono & Co. Advocates in Tanzania. Prior to entering private practice, Wilbert was a Senior Lecturer and Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Dar es Salaam where he was a member of the teaching and research staff for seventeen years. He specialises in corporate law, construction law, finance law, banking, restructurings and competition law. He has significant dispute resolution experience and has over 25 years experience advising domestic and international financial institutions and corporations on corporate, regulatory and transactional matters.
Wilbert holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Dar es Salaam. He also has Masters’ degrees in Law from both the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Columbia University in New York, USA, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Northeastern University in Boston, USA.
