Founder Background Story
In 2002 Mrs Halima R. Mwandaliwa, the founder and Managing Director of Mwandaliwa Orphanage Centre, went on atrip to see her best friend Anneth Sanga, who lived at kigogo, Dar es salaam, Tanzania. Near to the house she met two children that were playing football they were around 5 or six years old, and they are lived with their grandmother. They had health problems such as malnutrition or kwashakor diseases due to absence of good food and other basic human needs. Halima wanted to support these children and make them became a part of her family.
SHORT BRIEFLY ABOUT MWANDALIWA
Mwandaliwa Orphanage centre is a Non – Governmental Organisation working together with all people regardless of Tribe, color, and Race. Mwandaliwa is aregistered Organisation it was registered as NGO under registration number 1801 in year 2006, under the ministry of community, Development, Gender, and Children. It is located at Dovya Street, in Bunju Ward, Kinondoni Municipality, Dar es salaam Region.
As of now the centre has a total number of 84 orphanage children, 38 are boys and 46 are girls from diferrent part of Tanzania, all the orphanage children are boarders, living at the Centre and are school children from different schools including nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and universities.
AT CHILDREN HOME
The aim of establishing this centre is to assist Orphanage children who have lost their parents for various reasons , such as Diseases, accidents, flouds, and thus this centreis designed to play the role as their guardians and provided to them basic needs such as Food, Health, and Education.
Is a community in Tanzania where all the orphans and vulnerable children are provided with home based care and cared for in the best way possible to enable them to develop as independent citizen.
Is to identify, collect, and assist by providing them home care for the orphans, vulnerable children, and to cooperate with the community in caring for them.
- Home Care and Counselling for orphans and most vulnerable children in schools, street urban and rural areas.
- To develop innovative method of mobilizing and involving individuals, local Government and Village leaders in HIV/AIDS education prevation behavioral change and counseling.
- To provide modern socialization for orphans through Home Care and assist them to obtain Education in schools, colleges,and university.
- To support Orphans in their participation in income generating activities, eradicate poverty Economically, Health Commmunity Care and policy decision making.
